Who we are, our charter, and how we work.
The Convergent Defense Foundation is an independent non-profit working in the public interest. We research how India's public safety, defense and emergency response forces prepare for what they face, and we design and build the technology they need in India.
Non-profit by charter
Registered as a Section 8 company, we hold no commercial motive. Any surplus goes back into the work.
Independent by design
Our research and analysis answer to the public interest alone. We take no commercial or political sponsorship.
Support, not substitution
We strengthen the training, readiness and capability of India's forces. Ownership stays with the institution.
Discretion by default
Sensitive work remains confidential. We publish only what can be shared responsibly, and name partners only with their consent.
Three rules we keep.
No profit motive
As a Section 8 company we take no profit. Every rupee of surplus returns to the work.
We build what we recommend
Most of what we hand over is working equipment and software. Reports are the smaller part of the job.
Discretion by default
Defense work stays confidential. What appears on this site is the public share of what we do.
