TALON — Tactical Awareness, Location & Operations Network
An autonomous IoT mesh that detects wildlife and intruders in forests with no cellular coverage. Camera nodes relay images over a Wi-Fi HaLow mesh, and a separate LoRa channel carries SOS alerts and MAYDAY voice. Detections reach a command gateway in near real time, with nobody stationed at the node.
In February 2026 a five-node overnight trial with a state forest department in Uttarakhand transferred every image it captured.
